TPL_KUNENA_MESSAGE_CREATED Transmitter recommendation needed

Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum here and am sure I can find the answer from you experts.
I want to change my RC system as I lost confidence in my current China made transmitter (using OpenTx) which caused two of my gliders crashed. I have been looking at the Multiplex Cockpit SX12 and Jeti DS12 mainly for large scale gliders in the slope.
Q1: May be not fair to ask in here which one is better, but since I am new to both systems I need someone to tell me what to pick, and why?
Q2: Do I need the full package software upgrade for the Jeti DS12 for gliders ? (the becomes a lot more expensive)
or which package is the best option?

For the choice of a decent transmitter, 2 questions are not enough but something simple to start with.
Thank you for your advice.:)

Hi ppcontrol,

I had almost the same journey: Coming from FrSky, having lost several models because of the servo deflection, having to wait for a fix, etc.

I personally decided to buy the DS-12 and I did not regret it. My motivation was that a lot of colleagues in our clud are using Jeti, the cuircuits seem to be very well designed.

I cannot help you what is needed for your gliders butthe list of Add-Ons is public available.

I wqould highly recommend to start with the newer REX recievers.

Have fun

Stefan

Well, you have asked in a Jeti forum about selecting between Multiplex and Jeti - you should assume that the answer is somehow biased. :)
Before switching to Jeti TX, I was using Multiplex TX (with Jeti TU modules.). The MPX weren’t bad, and I liked some aspects of their programming style (and disliked some as well, and in addition the style is different between the models),

Having a DS16 and a DS12, I would vote for the DS12 as well.
Being biased as all the others here. B)

Which extensions you need is not an easy answer, nobody can decide that for you. Just go thru the list and ask yourself, what is the purpose, do I have a real use case for it.

Best regards
Dirk

Thank you Dirk for your comment.
There might be people here dislike Jeti transmitter when compare to the Multiplex, but so far I have seen none.
And, I can see both the technical support and community support are stronger in Jeti as well.
Thanks.

I´m a long time Jeti user so I guess I’m strongly biased. But anyway. Recently I was very tempted to go for the new Powerbox Core transmitter but I finally decided to stay on with Jeti and to expand my commitment by getting a second Tx, a DS-12 Special Edition. I´m very satisfied with it
The main reasons to my decision was the appearance on YouTube of Harry C´s excellent instruction videos on the Jeti system in English. It opened the last closed doors to the system for us who aren’t fluid in the German language. I also recently benefitted from the excellent customer service of Jeti when I was unlucky to by a dysfunctional Jeti part.
On the topic of open Tx I can report there are a few users in my club who uses Frsky, Jumper T16 and even Spektrum who are very impressed by my new DS-12 and who are contemplating to switch over. One of the just did exactly that.
So, do your homework and surveys. But I don´t think you can go wrong with Jeti.
