I have a model equipped with standard servos suited for 4.-5.0 V. Now I would like to use the new Central Box 220 when it is available. I would also like to use two 2S Power Ion batteries of 8.4 V. Can I use the MAXBEC 2D to power the Central Box 220 or are there any better alternative. I don´t want to change all the servos to HV.

Hi !

If the servo voltage is max. 5V the only way is to use a BEC.

If the max. servo voltage is 6V you could use a 2s LiFePo4 battery. The voltage after charging will be something around 7V.
As far as I know the CB Box has built in diodes. So the voltage will go down a little bit. Under load In flight the voltage will go down to 6,6 V which will work for 6V servos.

You could also use a Schottky diode for reducing the voltage but this will be an additional point of faillure.

Thank you, Stein and Lukas. I will get a BEC.
