There isn't at the moment. It works as a sensor and needs to be near the tag during operation.

Hello Tero,

yesterday I received your RFID System. For my Oxy it looks to thick for me. Is it possible, to get the device thinner?

The battery tray is in front of the Chassis with only limmited space between the tray and the canopy.
Under the tray is the ESC mounted.

How far can the RFID-Reader be placed away from the label? I'm thinking about placing the reader between battery tray and ESC.
Is it a problem to place the reader directly beneath the ESC?

regards

Wolfgang

Hmm, Oxy. Cool heli but damn small :)

Device can be made thinner if you use the RFID-version where antenna is different from electronics: www.ebay.com/itm/13-56MHz-2-5-3-6V-RFID-...a:g:0VAAAOSwdzVXvQXS

But that only increases the total size of system. Making the RFID-sensor itself thinner would require a own PCB and manufacturing and currently I do not see that as an option for me, sorry.

You can make the sensor yourself to two parts like my proto:

About the ESC-installation, that needs to be tested, RF-power on RFID is really small and in my opinion the frequency should not be a problem. In fact the ESC might give issues to RFID rather than vice versa.

Reading distance is up to 3cm with "RCT" tags, using Revo Bump a little less. Look for the setting around line 220 "RxGain_max" as noted here: www.rc-thoughts.com/jeti-rfid-sensor/

Hi teros, you could write a simple script where on the destop to see how much% of the stick is located but this is interesting for a heli flier as they are there since I am still not a heliflier I would still find it interesting. So one would not have to go into the separate servo. Thorn
