TPL_KUNENA_MESSAGE_CREATED Feature proposal: travel settings for Px inputs
05 Sep 2025 11:43 - 05 Sep 2025 11:45
This proposal would add further flexibility where physical inputs are used.
e.g. with free mixes, one can use a switch/input to adjust the mixer strength. Just using a control knob like P8. This is a very powerful feature.
When selecting P8 the dialog allows some modifications like reversing the function or use it either centered (-100...+100) or starting at 0 (0..100).
In the case of the mixer example, P8 will modify the mixer from 0...53 (P8=0..+100). This works fine basically, but I found situations where I would like to reduce the adjustment range (I would like to avoid mixer values being near zero).
e.g. would like to adjust the mixer value between e.g. 40-60 %.
Similiar for volume control. When using P6 for volume control it always runs from 0..100%. I'd like to avoid complete audio muting at 0%, with a range e.g. 20...100%. Again, additional paramters for P6 would be helpful.
Proposal:
Generally add some modifiers to (physical) Px inputs.
Endpoints A,B : the output of Px runs from A to B, instead from -100 to +100. A and B values may range from -100 to +100 each.
Center point C : a center point C sets to output value at Px in the middle postion. If C is not given, the Px output shall travel fom A to B in a linear manner.
If (new) A,B are given, other standard options like Centr and Rev. shall be ignored.
IMO, these additions would make Px inputs much more powerful and flexible.
Just a thought, a good place for the new options could be either on top
or as a new category
IMO, the option would be most powerful if it is available as a general option, independent of the input source Px or any source in the list like Logical Switches, ..., Function, Channel, etc.
regards
Alois

TPL_KUNENA_MESSAGE_REPLIED_NEW Feature proposal: travel settings for Px inputs

Just a clarification about the place of the new options.
One can treat them as enhancement of the existing settings in the "Select Input Control" menue.
New A,B,C (whatever the names are) can be choosen instead of "Centr" and "Rev".
The perfect place is here

Hallo Alois,
