TPL_KUNENA_MESSAGE_CREATED Proposal for a next-generation Throttle-Stick

With upcoming autopilots for multicopters and also helicopters more and more pilots are confronted with the situation that dependent on model and flight phase they would either need a non-centering or self-centering throttle/pitch stick. E.g. hovering in autopilot-assisted flight modes usually requires to have the stick centered while in manual flight mode the stick is preferrable non-centering.
With a conventional non-centering stick (mode 1 or 2) it is very difficult to find the center for hovering while highly concentrating on the model in air. This would be easy in Jeti mode 5 where I just need to release the stick for centering, but now it is difficult to fly in manual mode.
Actually no vendor has a really good solution to this problem. Nobody wants to open the transmitter housing prior to every flight to screw at the stick for changing its behaviour.
Therefore my proposal:
Jeti should develop an electromechanical stick which is configurable by transmitter software to behave either centered or non-centered, dependent on model configuration and flight phase.
E.g. this could be implemented by replacing the actual centering spring (mode 5) or brake (mode 1,2) by a little motor on the stick axis which is fully programmable by software to either generate a configurable braking force if the stick gets moved (mode 1,2) or turn the stick back to center position if it gets released (mode 5). Hardware effort would be not too high as the feedback sensor for the actual stick position is already there.
This would add a unique feature which would further increase Jetis' projection over the competition. E.g. Jeti could offer this stick as an option for additional charge.
Regards, Gerd

If Jeti ever does that, you should get a free one for giving them the idea.
Nice thinking
