Help with rx-signal strenght

Hope this is the correct place for asking (unfortunately I dont read or write German).

A friend bought my DC-16 and is very happy with it, but has got a problem when installing the 9ch receiver in a full carbon glider. He keep getting the voicewarning: "lost signal". This happens only at 50meter away, sometimes at 100-150meter away. Obviously he did not fly it further away.

The antennas are put out at the wing root on each side of the body, the yellow part and about 5cm of the black part is sticking out.

Any idea what is wrong??

When I flew with the same tx-rx never lost signal, but I used it in a balsa-plywood plane.

I use the DC-16 and an R9 Rx in my full carbon 2m electric gliders without any problem up to about 500m distance in flight. Perhaps the antennas in your photo are too close to the carbon wing, or as they are not supported are moving into closer contact with the fuselage.
I use a support for the tips of the antenna which holds them away from and above the fuselage about 150mm behind the wing - photo attached (that photo shows an ACT Rx but I have used Jeti for over a year now).

The "signal lost" message refers to the telemetry from the Rx not the signal received by the model, but I undesratnd why it causes concern!.

Which firmwares are used. Did he get the R9 from you as well? If it is new, the firmware may be old, I have had this with a reciever (3.11) that I did forget to update. With the newest FW 3.22 the warnings are gone.

Yes. And the explanation is actually pretty simple.
In flight, especially at higher speeds, the airflow will bend the antennas towards the fuse and they susequently get shadowed by the carbon fuse.
Use some supporting clips like Dickw posted and your problem is solved
