Hello,
flying on alpine slopes during summer time I saw that the screen of DS16 presents a strange halo.
Humidity inside?
I can protect the radio/screen when not flying otherwise material are well exposed to the sunshine.
I'm wondering what it will happen during winter time when the temperature on the slope is between 5 and 10
below zero......

Can I do something to solve the halo? I don't know, for example to keep radio open in a dry place for a night....put it in the owen with potatoes ???

Hello Miko,

I've found the same on my DS-16. I observed a decreasing intensity. I think, there is / was some humidity in the display section, wich is more separated from the transmitter case than in the DC-16.

regards

Wolfgang

Oven and potatoes sounds perfect...
Add some fresh oregano and serve hot

Sacha

it was only to decrease level of stress.
It's not a serious problem but humidity inside can produce oxidation somewhere.

Let do in this way : when well cooked I'll invite you for dinner with pizza origano e DS16 ( and iced beers for sure!)

Thanks hoping during this winter problem will disappear

Funny enough, i had the problem too, but not in summer time.
More in spring when i took the remote from the cold car into the warm club house.
Or when it was sitting outside and being brought into a warmer surrounding.
I also see weird scratches on the inside of the display in those conditions.
I would guess it just has not been treated the same way as the outside and the surface is more rough and prone to adhere condensation.

Worse is that it will snow on the display soon ;)

PS : I make a fantastic home made garlic majonaise for the oven potatoes
