TPL_KUNENA_MESSAGE_CREATED Help
20 May 2022 08:27
I am returning to this hobby after 30 years - these boxes are all black magic to me!
I believe I’ve settled on the DS12 Special Edition Carbon. I am totally at a loss as to know which options or modules to purchase above what is included in this special edition.
My focus is purely full wing sailplanes - both E/Non powered. Also have an Auri DLG…
Tips, suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Anyone have a new or like new DS12 SEC for sale, let me know.
Feel free to reply in German
Thx

Thanks! I’ve watched most of Harry’s vids and to a large degree that’s how/why I’m ready to buy a Jeti. Unfortunately, none of his stuff (which I could find) helps one decided what is or isn’t needed above the basic radio. I don’t want to over buy function I don’t need nor find out soon after I unbox, I should have could have etc…
Jeti and Spirit list Basic, A, B & Deluxe packages. I’m guessing the items listed in the B package is what I’ll go with…

Hello Jeff!
The Upgrades you need are depending on the models you fly as well.
IMHO For Gliders, I would need to have the following Upgrades at least:
1. Channels (depends on model)
2. FlightModes (because I always use more than 3 e.g. speed/thermal/start/landing)
3. Functioncurves (for flaps, throttle)
4. logical switches (I always use them for multiple things like timers, telemetry, FM)
5. Voiceoutout
6. Vario
7. Log View
Those would be the "must haves" for MY usage.
Maybe you don't need some...
Maybe you need more... Free mixers, timers, telemetry values and the Servo balancer or sequencer, too.
We (my brother and I) are using the telemetry stuff from SM-Modellbau, mostly the Unisense-E, in all the Gliders with E-drive, simply because you can have drive telemetry independent from the used TX system and the installed ESC, the battery values ( like taken capacity, highest amps etc.) and a good working Vario all at a small footprint.
Tip/Hint
You could download the Jeti studio and try to setup a model on the DC24 emulator.
Take your time, setup one or two different models completely, with all the things you want and see which upgrades you may need on the transmitter.
Regards
Nicolas

Thank you Nicolas! This is exactly the type of help I was looking for. Your tip is well taken and I will certainly check out the DC24 emulator…
With kind regards,
Jeff
